CBU Research PanelMRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit conduct, relies on general members of the public to participate in their voluntary studies of attention, emotion, memory and language. No prizes or incentives are offered with this program, which is purely a voluntary program. Researchers at the unit test theories about the functioning of the mind and brain in healthy adults and following brain injury and disease. This includes matters involving attention, emotion, speech and language and memory and knowledge. Research is typically in the form of physical examinations and medical testing, and thus participants must travel to the Unit itself. These tests might involve MRI scans and the use of similar medical equipment, conducted by cognitive scientists and neuroscientists. Other tests include behavioral experiments that attempt to explore the clinical implications for patient therapy and rehabilitation. Both healthy participants and those suffering from brain injury and diseases are required to undergo such testing. General Information
