Consumer InsightsConsumer Insights inc. wants to pay you for your opinions. They are currently enlarging their database of Metro Detroiters, who they will occasionally contact with invitations to participate in their various market research projects. Consumer Insights is currently focused on four select market research techniques, including focus groups, in-depth interviews, product testing or clinics and online surveys. The focus groups generally consist of 8 to 10 consumers, and are led by a professional moderator. They last for two hours in weekday afternoons and evenings, and average $75 per two-hour session. In-depth interviews are similar in nature, but are conducted as one-on-one interviews. These last an hour and payment for participation averages at $60 per one-hour session. Product testing requires consumers to visit offsite locations, requires a commitment of between 15 and 90 minutes, and incentives for this varies according to time and the task required. Finally, they also offer an online environment through which to get involved. The topic of this research varies greatly, and they usually take under 10 minutes, with cash draws offered as a reward.
